Most, but not all, are homeless people. Some come in just to have a real restroom to use. Some sit in a chair and sleep knowing this is a safe place where they can relax. Others sit and socialize. Many use the free phone. However, the line at the desk is never ending with a list of requests. Some need a birth certificate or ID; some need a prescription filled; many need clothes and toiletries; backpacks are a hot item; a few are scheduled each day to obtain help paying rent or utility bills; and some just want a piece of candy or crackers. There are not enough funds or donations to help everyone, but here are some items you can provide: Packs of cheese/peanut butter crackers Individual/bite size packages of candy Reading Glasses Gently used backpacks or zippered duffel type bags Adult sizes only, new or gently used-Socks, Underwear, Jeans, Tennis shoes, Black Shirts and Pants (used for many service industry jobs) Navigating Lent One Day Retreat Saturday, February 29th from 9:30 am - 3:00 pm ESK, 950 Episcopal School Way, 37932 $80 includes lunch Learn More & Register: www.carolinevogel.com/events More Episcopal News Service Presiding Bishop Michael Curry’s Christmas message 2019 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness cannot overcome it December 25, 2019 Episcopal News Service The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness cannot...
